Porsche Romania - 34% sales growth in 2006


Porsche Romania, importer of Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Seat and Porsche, recorded in 2006, a sales growth of 34% over 2005 with 43,000 units sold.


Best selling brand of Porsche Romania was Skoda, with sales of 20,541 vehicles, with 5,735 more that 2005 (39% increase).

And Volkswagen passenger cars, the increase were significant, with 29% more models sold in 2006 from a year earlier, with sales totaling 14,392 units.

And Volkswagen passenger cars, the increase were significant, with 29% more models sold in 2006 from a year earlier, with sales totaling 14,392 units.

For Audi, 2006 was also a good year, with sales increasing from 1300 cars in 2005 to 1,727 cars last year. The seat has sold 3,864 units, an increase of 32% over 2005.

The exclusive Porsche brand has found only 87 customers, a slight decrease from 2005 when they sold 88 units.

Best selling models in 2006 were Skoda Octavia and Skoda Octavia II with 11,000 units cumulatively. Volkswagen Polo comes just after Octavia, with approximately 5,000 units sold.

In early 2006 estimates Porsche Romania shows that will be sold around 38,000 units.

The Porsche Romania's distribution network is comprised of four dealers own and 80 partners across the firm.

For 2007, Porsche Romania expects a sales growth of 10% over 2006. Prosche Romania occupies 30% of the domestic market for imported cars.
